About this course
;
Learn how mathematicians think – a powerful cognitive process that has evolved over thousands of years.
Typically, school math focuses on learning procedures to solve highly stereotyped problems. Professional mathematicians think in a specific way to solve real-world problems, which can arise from the everyday world, science, or within mathematics itself. Learning to think outside the box is essential for success in school math. In contrast, thinking outside the box is a key feature of mathematical thinking, which is a valuable skill in today’s world. This course assists in the development of that critical way of thinking.
