About this Course
In this course, we will use organisational theories to analyse how an organisation operates and how it can be managed most effectively. Organizational theories highlight specific aspects of an organization’s structure and environment, as well as its negotiation, production, and change processes. Each provides a lens through which to interpret novel organisational situations and develop an understanding of how individual and group behaviours are organised. Because most organisational problems are unique to the circumstances and cannot be solved by simple rules of thumb, theories are useful for analysts and managers. Armed with a set of organisational theory tools, you will be able to systematically identify important features of an organisation and the events that transform it; select the most applicable theoretical framework and use that theory to determine actions for desired directions of the organisation.
