About this Course
The course examines the private equity and venture capital industries.
Throughout the course, students will gain a thorough understanding of the mechanisms underlying the formation and/or development of a firm, as well as the financial support it can receive from the financial system through venture capital investment.
The course attempts to discover how special financial intermediaries (known as private equity investors) finance equity companies at various stages of their life-cycle, beginning at the very beginning (startup and early stage) and progressing to a more mature phase (i.e. expansion, mature age, etc.) or remaining in crises and decline.
As financial intermediaries see it, private equity (also known as venture capital) deals with a wide range of activities, including scouting, advisory, deal-making, valuation, and financing.
